While cruising between 70-75 mph on I-64 last night I noticed a strange behavior.  My interior lights would flicker on and back off, and at the same time the"door open indicator "light would indicate that my driver's door was open.  It happened mostly when steering to the right or going over rough strips in the pavement.

It got so bad that the lights would stay on for 4-5 seconds at a time and this occured frequently.  I could simulate the problem by pressing on the door with my elbow.

My door was firmly closed during all this situation. The only lights doing this were the interior lights, the instrument panel lights were fine.

Any idea what this could be?  I will probably end up taking it to the dealer, but I wanted an idea of what they should look for.

I forgot to mention that the truck with the light problem is an '06 Frontier LE King Cab.  Also, I remembered that shortly after getting the truck the dealer voluntarily changed the door latches, they said it was a recall item.  So, I am thinking maybe the new latches are not right?

The drivers side door switch was stuck open it sounds like, like the door
wasn't hitting it or the spring wasn't giving.... look for the black tab
that pushes in when you close the door.... if it is sticking and you need a
new one, they run only about $20 shipped ( depending on where you are )...
let me know if there is anything else I can do for you
