I need something with more space. and am on a budget so im looking at 02-04 Xterras.  and i really like the looks and styling of that year and there are many in my price range...
but a few things hange me up.

1: what is the ACTUAL gas milage for the V6 S/C  I see wild variations from review to review from 20/17 to 18/15..  same goes for the NA V6.. one place will state it at 19/17 the other will put it at 24/19..  and with prices the way they are now.. that is an important detail..

also.. Im guessing the SC model requires at least 91 octain?

aside from that.. what should I watch out for, look for, listen for. when looking at a used one?

I do not have an X-Terra but do have a 1995 Pathfinder 4x4 w/V-6.

The broad fluctuations you see are probazbly correct, mine can get as low as 16 MPG around town and up to 24 MPG on the road.

I recently subscribed and still have not had a single answere to my posted question!
