what would be the cheapest way to get more power in a 1999 altima gxe? i thought about putting in a vq30de or vq35de but i have to change a lot of thing such as the transmission, ecu... so minimum 10,000$... is there another way?

Have you considered aftermarket parts?

you mean if i'm already boosted? if I was boosted i wouldn't have this power problem... for aftermarket stuff, i'm not sure because i don't know how the other guy treated his ''equipment''. i got another question, at a low rpm when i accelerate, my engine (or something else) or maybe my transmission (i doubt) does some freegames. excuse my english btw it's not my first language so i'll try to explain it, it feels like i hit some oil on the ground. it does it from like 1000rpm to about 2500rpm. it's so unconfortable! i'd really like to know what the hell is happenning!

haha, dude thats my signature.  The car doesn't sound like it's in great condition.  The problem your having sounds like something with the transmission, but I'm not sure.  As long as your engine is in good condition and you still over 100k miles to put on it, then aftermarket part are definatley your best bet.  There are some real bad quality parts, but all the well known companies make even better quality parts than nissan.  And its a cheap alternative to a new engine/car.

so you think it could be the transmission? i thought so but i realized something. if it was the transmission, wouldn't i feel the ''oil effect'' (don't know how to call this) until 6200rpm?

Yeah. get an older nissan sentra with a ser20det amd swap with your 2.4. you should be able to find one around $1,200 - $1,500. Everything should line up perfectly. thats what im looking to do to my 98!
