One timing belt in VGE. When it is not changed 60/5yrs, it may break anytime.
VE engine =with coilpacks has three chains 'in oil bath', seek manual page EM-52 via links below. They need also checkups, and wont last forever, especially if lubrication fails.
If belts/chains break, one needs another engine.

Check all links from page below; heres pic of the three 1-3 accessory belts:

what kinda shape is the body of the car in? with that high mileage on the engine youd probably be better off getting a new VE30DE to put in it and theyre not expensive motors

Yeah I'd say go with getting a new/rebuilt motor cause theyre not that expensive, you could probably find one in a junkyard actually

+1 on the junkyard motor cause there probably low mileage and they usually give a warrenty on the motor when you buy it from the junkyard. it would probably be around $600-$1500 for a used motor from the junkyard just shop around.

U have to open it before rebuilding. The issue is, can u find a piece you still can rebuild onto? Then ask auntie for 5000$...
Yes the A/C is on top, the pic was from down below. I guess youll get a rotten Maxima with good VGE for 200$? ...some horses less but u can tease out more than stock VE. ->do check the mentioned pages.
