I DIDNT KNOW YOU COULD DO A RB26DETT ON A 240SX. I THOUGHT THAT THE ENGINE BAY IN A 240SX WAS TOO SMALL FOR A RB26. BUT I KNOW THAT YOU CAN PUT IN A RB25DET IN THERE. THAT WOULD ALSO BE A GOOD OPTION EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT NOT GET THE SAME PEAK HORSEPOWER OUT OF IT. BUT EITHER WAY ITS NEW FOR ME TO FIND THIS OUT.

RB26DETT is in my opinion the best swap for an S-body... KA24DE is a great motor for forced induction, but for those who need more, two more cylinders is the answer. I see everyone raving about RB25 transmissions, has anyone considered that you are able to make good use of the RB26's advanced AWD transmssion??? The major issues between the stock ka24de and the rb26dett is on the interior, the skyline's transmission is considerably longer which causes the shifter to be a little further to the rear of the car. But honestly, you are talking about swapping a motor, that is automatically a rather un-natural act for a production car. Customization is essential, I suggest that the pricy AWD system that you pay for goes into use. Or consider playing the waiting game for a GTS-T, the RWD variation of the RB26... This is not for those of us on a budget, i will continue to dream about winning the lottery and buying my RB... $3000 for a motor/trans (at least) and to protect your investment, you are going to want some aftermarket goodies. Nobody wants to blow a few grand on a motor that doesnt last, so if i were to take on the project i would spare no expense and replace anything that isn't in absolute mint condition!!!
