Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I just bought my 05 pathfinder last week. I have been pleased with it thus far considering it is the first suv I've owned. Just wanted to know if anyone did any mods on their vehicle. The primary use for this is for work but every now and then a night on the town is good also. I am not looking to race it or anything, just want to keep it sounding good, and running at it's peak. I am putting in a K and N air filter to start.

Also I was thinking going fully synthetic on oil for this.

My brother in law who is a mechanic said that I need to get the tires rotated every 3000 miles, I thought this is a bit extreme. Any advice?

I've got an 05 XE 4wd, I've changed my oil once at 3000, and put in Mobil 1, 5W30 (full synthetic). I immediately noticed the engine was smoother, quieter, and seemed to gain about 1mpg. I'm also going to put a K&N in, probably at about 20k. 3k tire rotations seem pretty extreme, I usually go 5k to 8k with good results.

I just ordered a K&N air filter for my 05 Pathfinder, from AJUSA.com, for $38, I got it in about 3 business days too. (K&N just added the 05 Pathfinder and Xterra filter number to their web site, #33-2286.
