nissan4x496 -> 96 nissan xe 4x4 headlight problems (4/2/2008 6:17:09 PM)

I have a 1996 Nissan XE 4x4 with the k24e motor.  It has been a great truck.  I purchased it in 2001 with 52,000 miles on it, which we all know is nothing, and now have 173,000.  All the miles have been pretty much trouble free but now I have a problem with the headlights.  I have seen some of the postings and they all say it is the switch.  I replaced the switch and it still did the same thing.  So now I am thinking it is a ground problem.  I just can not seeme to find the loose ground.  My guess is I may have to dismantle the wiring sleave and check all wires, but I want to avoid that.  Here is the situation.  I will turn the headlights on one day and they are fine.  Then the next they do not turn on.  I have noticed that sometimes I will swith the lights on and after a second or two they turn on.  I guessing a relay but I am at an end.  Any suggestions.........[:(][:(][:(]

Go with the relay because it is easy. I imagine that you checked the fuses and the switch plug on the vehicle side. Good luck. I have that same engine and I need to know if it came equipped with a fuel evaporive canister. If you are looking at the front of the engine it should be onthe right. Any info you can end my way is appreciated

I think I found it.  Is it a little blue fuse, about the size of a cigarette lighter...............I checked around and did a little research on the fuel evaporator canister and could not find anything on it.  Some vehicles came with it but I don't think the ka24e motor, released in the hardbody,  did not come with one but I'll keep checking because if it has one I would want to know.[8|]
