I'm looking into buying a used Skyline here in the UK. I've currently got a Honda Prelude V-tec 2.2 but it's not quick enough and I've heard that the Skyline really moves.

I've checked out some adverts for used Skylines but I'm a bit confused by all the different models available. Is there a website where I can get details on the all the models and their performance figures? For example I've seen advertised R-33 M-Type's, R-33 GTS, R32 GTR's and so on. I've no idea what the difference is between all these different versions so could really do with some accurate details to compare models and work out what I'd like. Any advice/tips welcomed.

Umm, Im not sure that you know what you are talking about wiegert2004. Type M have different body kit, but the exact same engine as a gts-t that isn't type M.

The main different types are gts, gts-4, gts-t and gtr.

Gts is Na rwd. It has an RB25DE only about 110kw
gts-4 has the same engine as GTS, but has the awd driveline like a gtr
GTS-T has rb25det. So the same engine as the above two but with a turbo running 2 stage boost of 5-7 psi. This engine puts out 187kw at the fly. Gts-T is rwd.

GTR is the most expensive and most powerfull  of the lot. Utilizing the godzilla (RB26DETT) this machine puts out over 200kw. it is all wheel drive and twin turbo. Expect to pay about twice as much as a GTS-t.

There are three versions that you would probably consider. these being the R32, R33 and R34.

The GTR had the same engine throughout the 3, however with each new release the torque was increased. Surpisingly the R32 (older) is still the fastest of the lot due to it's lower weight.

The r32 gts-t had the RB20det. This should be avoided as the rb25 in later models is much better.
