chizzle1 -> heater problem - no heat (12/20/2007 4:35:17 AM)

Hello, I am new to this forum and have a 2005 Titan 4x4 SE Off Road Edition with the 5.6L V8 etc etc as my NTV while over here in Mosul.
One of the problems I am having is the heater is not putting out any heat at all. There is no difference between the cold and hot setting on the knob.
I have attached a picture in hopes someone could identify what this part is - flow valve, temp sending device?
Both the hoses going to the heater core feel warm, so it is circulating water, and the temp gage gets up about 1/2 way (pointing directly straight ahead).
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Vehicle has about 9,200 miles on it so far.
