Amanda, can you turn on the "Delete my own Post" button?

There is no "delete you own post" feature. Deletion is something only Moderators and Admins are allowed to do. I'm sorry!

Ok......I am a member of several forums, and except for MF and this forum which has the same format, all of them have that feature for each member. I guess maybe the software you guys are using doesn't have that capability, huh? Or, you are electing to not turn on that feature for regular members. Which is it?

We don't turn it on. We prefer this way for many reasons. If something ever needs to go, a message to a moderator or Admin will cover it. The edit button is there to remove or change anything that needs to be taken away. :)

Ok, so if a member wants to erase their entire post, they just backspace and erase the entire message, and leave a blank message with the edit button. That seems a strange way to do it, but who am I to say how a site is to be run.

with the delete post button, people who may post something negative or something that may create problems, cant be proven...this way, the admin knows that smoeone posted something, even if the words are edited out.

i guess that makes sense. it was recently added to a very large forum i am a member to. it saves alot of trouble from moderators once it gets big to control every little thing.
